Time's A-Tickin!

BREATHE. DON'T WORRY. I'M IN LOVE AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!

(Fall 2005)

So much to do, so little time! I just have to learn to let the little things go. Everyone will have a wonderful time no matter what centerpieces I have or how cramped the tables are. Or how long or short the ceremony is. Speaking of ceremony... I have a rough draft of the order! Just need our pastor's input and we should be set. Happy to check something off the list in a time when it feels like nothing is getting checked off, things keep being added, and time is running out.

P.S. The ceremony will make you cry! It is very sweet :0)

Centerpieces

So... we were planning on having round tables... but now found out that we will actually need long tables. I was going to do a fun arrangement using these flowers, water, river rocks, candles, and these cylinders:

... but now I'm worried they are going to be too big & tall. And too many to rent to make an impact, which could get expensive.

Back to the drawing board I guess! Any suggestions would be wonderful :)

Marriage Mentor

We met with our marriage mentors for the first time about a week and a half ago. They are a great couple that hosted our table at our marriage prep class earlier this spring at Hosanna. Earlier in the year, Tony and I each took an inventory about personalities, family stuff, and future ideals. Now we get to meet with our mentor couple a few times before the wedding to go over what our answers meant. Our first topic was communication... which is a BIG one for any couple!

We got to go back and forth talking about our strengths and weaknesses when it comes to communicating with each other. We also learned how to be more assertive and to actively listen to our spouse's needs and requests. One of our topics was about how I get worked up and talk really loud when I'm excited about something, whether that is good excited or mad excited. I go "dino" on Tony (like Dino on The Flintstones, I start talking super fast and get louder and louder). Tony is definitely much more of a quiet volume guy and I like it loud.

So when I was shopping at Target the other day, I thought this little sign was a very relevant little reminder for me to put up somewhere in our new place:

B-E-A-Utiful

So I have been noticing lately that I am starting to get some nasty crow's feet around my eyes! Check it out:
I figured I better start to freshen up my look since we are close to one month away! Here are my new essentials:

Got my hair, tan, teeth, feet, fitness, skin, and eyes all covered hopefully :)

Hillbilly Bone

Ever heard of the country song "Hillbilly Bone"? Well my hubby-to-be definitely has that bone! Check out this thing Tony put together for our surround sound speaker:

Yup, you saw it right... gauze, twine, and dangling from our curtain rods. I'm glad he is so handy & savvy ;)

P.S. If you see speaker mounts/stands on sale anywhere, please let me know.

Budget

Everybody's favorite topic in life right? I am pulling together some of our final numbers and trying to work out a payment schedule. Does anyone know where to find a good budget layout for wedding planning items? Something that I can save to my desktop and print out if needed would be preferable compared to solely web-based.

Please email, comment, call, or text with any ideas! Thanks for the help :)

P.S. I updated some info under the Wedding FAQ page!

Programs & Announcements

This weekend I am going to try to start making our wedding programs. They are going to be sooo cute! Think fan, brief content, games, ribbons & pencils. Ooo... curious? I'll be sure to post some pics as I work on them.

I also was thinking about wedding announcements. Should we do them? Not do them? Here is an article about it on theknot. Your ideas and suggestions would be super helpful! Thanks :)

Enjoy this beautiful FRIDAY!!!!

Taking Pictures

As I was about to post pics from the recent bridal shower, I realized I have one special request for my photographer... PLEASE Do Not take my picture from down low looking up at me!

I do not have a chin that works well for this angle!!! And I am not very lady-like with my legs crossed. At both showers, the main pic taker sat on the floor in front of me while I was sitting up on a chair = double/triple chins + peek-a-boo undie show!

That is all, thanks!

Color Inspirations

As you may have heard, Tony and I are moving! We are renting a giant uhaul tomorrow night and luckily we have some super strong men to help us. Thank you so much Chuck, Nic, Josh, Gerry, and anyone else who helps out! We are going to be having pizza, beer, and mt dew once everything is moved over to St. Paul.

Since this is our first real place that we picked out together, we are redecorating everything and painting to make it feel more like a home. I am SOOO excited! Here are the wall colors we are thinking of:

Random Acts of Love

I think Tony is a romantic at heart. One day I went into work and there were little posty notes all over my desk, computer, phone, etc. Each one had different things that Tony loves about me! I love when he surprises me :0)
