The majority of invites are OUT! We still have a small handful to wrap up and send out tomorrow but most of them are out there in the world finally :)
Our list grew quite a bit from the original Save-the-Dates but we are so excited!

The Big Move
After 13 years of building a family together in their AV home, my mom and Gerry are moving on to bigger and better things! Goodbye old house... you've been good to us!

Poundage
I have been slowly losing weight since this winter. By the end of 2009, I was teetering around 155 :( As everyone does with the new year, I made some resolutions... and I am still working on them! Crazy to think that sometimes people actually can stick to them.
I started with working out with Abby. Then we added a personal trainer, Karl. He was fantastic, but even with a group discount, it was expensive. So we tried Team Fitness at Lifetime. I really enjoy the class but started slacking in the last week or two here... 5am can come way to early when you are running around all night after work doing wedding errands and helping parents move. I usually try to squeeze in some of my own exercising... P90X with Tony, running with Jax, or even just going for a nice long walk with Tanya. However - what has been the extra boost I needed in the last two months is MyFitnessPal.com. It is a super easy website that helps me track my calories and exercise. Yes, logging on and entering stuff takes a few minutes... but what's a few minutes a day on there instead of FB??? Easy!!!
So I am VERY proud to say that I have lost about 15 pounds since last winter!!! And Tony is right there too :) even though he just started with the weight loss thing about a month or two ago lol. We really want to keep it up and start our marriage in a healthy, youthful way. We love to be outside and doing active things. But we also love to eat. So we are working on that balance and learning how to be healthier together. (Notice I did not say "healthy" together - we still love some "naughty" foods and couch time).

A Week of To-Do Lists
Originally Tony and I had been planning on sneaking away to the cabin for a couple days this week since we had some days off together. Throw in a kind of spur of the moment move to St. Paul, a lot of wedding catching up (invites), and my parents moving out of their house... yeah, the cabin probably wasn't the best plan.
Needless to say, we are staying home this week! We just made the decision this weekend and we already have both days almost booked with packing, running wedding errands, and trying to help Mom and Gerry move. Some of the main items to get done include:
Needless to say, we are staying home this week! We just made the decision this weekend and we already have both days almost booked with packing, running wedding errands, and trying to help Mom and Gerry move. Some of the main items to get done include:
- Getting Our Marriage License!
- Picking out shirts and ties for the guys.
- Picking out a place to take my dress for my first alterations.
- Finalizing the guest list and mailing out invitations.
- Having a SERIOUS talk with our caterer (still do not have a price per head or answers about bar service).
- Shop for wedding bands :)
On a side note... I decided to print the addresses on our invitations instead of handwrite them. I know it is not proper etiquette, but it works better with our boring cheap envelopes to have a nice wraparound label to dress them up a little. Since we are not using inner envelopes, the printed label will also make it easier to read. I figure we have already broken a lot of etiquette "rules," might as well keep doing OUR thing!

Invite Production
The Tools:
I bought the cheapest paper cutter available and OfficeMax. That baby is my #1 favorite new crafty tool! Super fast and way too sharp (I had a few slight knuckle injuries). The pink thing is a sticker maker. It is fabulous - and less than $10! Finally, the blue/clear do-hickey is an adhesive roll (kind of like white out). No messy glue = beautifully smooth invites!

There are 50 invites completed at the top and 50 more ready to be assembled. Once we double check the list with the parents, we will decide the final count for the last set of invites.
Next up: making templates and printing the wrap-around address labels! to sticker or not to sticker??? Or will the adhesive roll work good enough in the mail? (You can see a rough draft of the idea in the pic above).

HairDone?
I received my hairpiece in the mail the other day! I decided to go with #5 from my earlier post. I love it! But... it is much smaller than I thought! You can kinda see the pic of the model with it in her hair on the card. Looks like a good size right? Maybe even a little big? Well... maybe I just have a big head, but it is much smaller than it appears on the model. I will try to take a quick pic later this week and you guys can let me know what you think.
I might buy another one from the choices of the earlier post... just to compare. Does anyone know if you can return things you buy on etsy?

Makin a List, Checkin it Twice...
No worries, I am aware it is June and nowhere near Christmas.
Yikes! Better start being productive again.
I am, however, aware of a quite a few tasks on my wedding checklist that I need to catch up on! Every year I have quite the love affair with summer. Often times, it can be quite a distracting little habit - keeping me from staying indoors, cleaning, working, basically being productive in any manner besides getting a tan. This is the main reason I tried to get most of the big planning steps out of the way before summer swooned me.
Here is a picture of my personal copy of The Knot Checklist:

Bridal Shower
A very special thanks to the lovely ladies who threw a bridal shower for me last weekend!!! It was much more than I expected and I am very grateful to Angie, Ashley, Kelley, Abby, Tanya, and everyone else who attended and helped out! Here a couple pics I snagged off Paula's camera (mine was still MIA at that point):

Announcement: Tony and I are Moving!
We are going to be moving to The Burlington where Tony works! I got to see our new apartment today and it is huge. Amazing closets, an extra storage room, hardwood floors, two balconies, and did I mention... amazing closets!
So yes, the apartment is fabulous... but why now you ask? When I am supposed to be planning a wedding?! Because the opportunity came up and we need a fresh start! Trailway has been great for us the past two years and we owe a lot to our coworkers/friends that have been wonderful to us. However, we need a larger space (we have too much crap) and I have always wanted to live in the "city" for awhile before settling down the burbs. It's not exactly downtown Minneapolis, but it's as close as I will get Tony to city living. So bring on the boxes baby!

Right Around the Corner
Less Than 75 Days until Wedding Day! So exciting but so much to do!
Found this cute article the other day on MSN, reminded me of some of the things Tony and I learned in our marriage prep course at Hosanna: Five Things Super-Happy Couples Do Every Day. Although a wedding is a wonderfully memorable day, what's even more important is that we are starting a life together!

Yay! Found It!
I finally found my camera!!! It was in with my crafty stuff! So when I pulled out my project for today (thank you cards) there it was next to my adhesive gluey thinger. Also note the Sex and the City DVD - Season Five. Abby borrowed all the seasons to me years ago (literally) and I am finally getting around to catching up with the fad.
And my favorite little pal Jax (also known as Skeletor) kept me company.

Camera!
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile... I can't find my camera! And it's much more fun to post things with pictures so you can visualize what I'm talking about. I will look for it tonight... it's got to be around somewhere...
