Week 15 Pic & Letter to Baby
Dear Baby,
How’s it going in there?! Everyone has been so jealous of my easy pregnancy thus far! It is making me a little nervous for what might be coming ahead; I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But someone wise once told my friend that you can’t wait around for that shoe. Just let life happen and enjoy it in the moment.
I asked our midwife when we can find out if you are a boy or girl… 20 weeks. We can’t wait! Especially your dad, he secretly loves to plan ahead for things. By the way, he is pretty awesome and has been taking wonderful care of you already.
You are the size of a naval orange {aka a baseball} this week! I still don’t have much of a pregnant belly, but you are already affecting my balance {more clumsy than my usual self} and my brain {short attention span, forgetfulness, etc.}. Don’t worry, these are all normal… and funny… especially to your dad. My lower back has also been sore, but I think this is more stress related. Time to exercise more! {And maybe get a massage :) }
So many questions this week: will we get a house before you’re born? Will my job change? What about daycare? {no idea where to start with this}. Will we be able to agree on a name? Will you love your name?
The list of unknowns seems endless right now, but we are totally loving this adventure with you!
Love you already Peanut!
P.S. We don’t have any nicknames for you yet… but don’t worry… the fam jam are experts… stay tuned.

By the way, this pic was taken five minutes before we left for the cabin, after I had been packing everything into the truck, sweating my butt off. Lovely.
Tonight's Post
Forgot to attach the pic when I scheduled the post for tonight. Since we are on our way up to the cabin, I won't be able to upload it until late tonight. Sorry for the delay!

Love Like Crazy: Prep Day Thursday
Quick Disclosure: Sorry for the tardiness of this post... I cannot find my pics from the prep days! I'm really hoping they did not get deleted... so for now... here is the post using some other pics. I might go back and edit it if I find them :) I think they are on my broken laptop. Thanks!
We arrived up north on Wednesday evening. Kelley and I rode together in mom's car, packed completely full of stuff. Tony and Jax rode in the saturn, also packed completely full. This is even after I had brought up a carload of stuff the weekend before, as well as miscelaneous items throughout the previous weeks. I guess that's what happens when you DIY the majority of your decor and snackies!
On Thursday, we prepped. We decorated. We stressed a little and sweat a lot. Some items we crossed off the to-do list that day included:
* Setting up & decorating the entryway and gift table.
* Positioning the cake table and hanging our great catch net with our engagement pics.
* Hanging our fauxto-booth backdrop, positioning the camera stand, and setting out the props. Here is one of the photo booth pics from the wedding night using a lot of the props! Gotta love the groomsmen ;)
* Using the assembly line technique to produce our favor bags - little baggies of trailmix! See the pink arrow. We set them out at all 150 table settings, including a little tag with a cute poem. If I can't find our prep day pics, I'll at least post the tag template.
* Make and hang photo memories & words of advice down the hallway. {No pic found yet!}
We ended the day chilling by the campfire and playing some yard games. It was a lot of hard work but totally worth it! Thank you so much to everyone who helped us with the prep work, it is very much appreciated!
Love Like Crazy Recap:
* We saw a teaser with some of my favorite pics.

Is it Thursday already?! Baby/Belly Updates
Heyo! This week's pic was taken shortly before going to the Burlington Annual Pool Party, after work. So I was a little hurried/tired/hungry/excited, all wrapped into one big funny-face package. At least my legs still look good!
How far along? 14 weeks

Random Pics from Last Week
Below are few pics from my camera this week. I am trying super hard to take more pictures in general, but what I really need to work on is taking pics of people! I hung out with Tanya, Abby, Ash, Angie, and date night with Tony but no pictures!!! Fail.
Here is what I did catch....
Jim (Tony's uncle) stopped over with a van load of baby stuff! Crib, changing table, cradle, etc. Yay for free stuff from our loving family! Thank you so much Jim and Ann :)

Got this fortune cookie the other day. I little reassurance is always nice, even in the form of fortune cookies.

Thick Thursdays... aka Belly/Bloat Pics!
The 1st trimester is almost complete! Week 13 started today :)
Warning: A slight case of TMI ahead... you've been warned.
New developments: slight round ligament pain off and on yesterday when standing up too fast, especially getting out of the car. For those who have no idea about the prego language I am quickly learning, round ligament pain is a sharp twinge of pain or tightening in your lower abdomen. As the uterus grows (it now fills the pelvis), the ligaments surrounding it go through a lot of stretching and growing. Also, I sneezed today and dripped a drop of pee... not just once, but twice! Sucky! I better pick up some panty liners... maybe ditch the thongs :( ... and work on my kegels. Kegels = working the pelvic floor muscles by squeezing and holding. Good for all women, not just the pregnant ones.
Old news... bloat!!! I am so sick of the bloating. I've gained maybe two pounds since we found out, yet I just keep getting THICKer, instead of bellylicious! I go to bed looking totally different than when I wake up in the morning. It's like there is no where for the food to go all day so it just stacks up on my tummy. Very weird.

Debt Update
We started this journey in September 2010. As of July 1st, 2011, we have paid off $13864.01!!!!!
As you may have heard, Tony and I are working super hard to pay off our debt. We have made a few mistakes in the past that we can blame on being young and naive... or most likely we were just being stupid and careless! However, after taking a long 13-week course about money management, we are on the same page. A page that says NO to debt! A page that is sick of giving over $1000/month of our hard earned income away to the collectors! A page that no longer wants to be slave to the lender!
Here is the ugly, nasty truth of how out of hand our debt became:
So almost a year ago, on September 13th, we walked into our first Financial Peace University class. We had heard about it through our marriage prep class and knew that the first class was a freebie. Everyone else in the class already had the kit and workbooks ready to go. Tony and I sat empty-handed. He was embarassed, but I didn't want to "blow" $100 on something we weren't going to stick to. I even forgot to print out the workbook freebie handout, which furthered Tony's embarassment. I had forgotten that sometimes he doesn't like to "go with the flow" and stick out from the others. Needless to say, after one class, we were hooked. We bought the kit from our instructor before walking out the door that night.
I quickly dove in and became the nerd of the Stein team. Tony fell into the roll of the free spirit, but started to grow more into a tight-wad free spirit ;) Fortunately we already had Baby Step 1: $1000 Baby Emergency Fund in place from our wedding. After three weeks of class, I finally calculated our Debt Snowball. Ouch. Our total debt was... get ready for this... take a seat.... $61,943.19. We were 25 years old. How the hell did this happen?! It was time to get angry and get rolling on our debt snowball.
If we can keep up the same pace of about $1500/month, we will be debt free by June 30th, 2014. Although this seems super far away at this point, I have to remember what we started with (see that sickening number above) and how much on interest we will be saving (over $11,000!). Plus, it's seven years earlier than if we just paid minimum payments!
We are finally under the $50,000 mark. Do you know how much debt you have? Most recent grads/mid-20s have never added it up. You can't attack a problem if you don't even know where you stand. I challenge you to the Debt Snowball!!!

Baby Stein… ETA January 20th, 2012!
So remember when I posted about Eelpout Festival a few months back? Well after that trip, Tony got this bright idea to start a family… now. We had originally planned to wait until at least our 1st year anniversary. But being the baby-lover that I am, and since no time is the “right time,” we got to work!
On Friday, May 20th, Tony and I went out for a friend’s birthday. Although we had fun, we ended the night with a fight. We rarely have fights and this one wasn’t anything huge. It was more just something that you brushed off and forgot about the next morning. We both headed off to work the next day at 10am. It was a slow day in the office and I was starving. I ran over to Cub Foods and got a lean cuisine… and a pregnancy test. I was a week late.
No big deal… I was ten days late the month before. But I couldn’t just let that test burn a hole in my purse all day until I went home… so after lunch, I did the deed. And much to surprise, yet not surprise, there were two pink lines! (aka, it was positive). Here is was, about 2pm in the afternoon and I was supposed to just wait 3+ hours to tell my hubby??? I couldn’t handle the waiting. So I called up my good friend (and boss) and begged her to finish out the day for me at work. I couldn’t fake being sick because I couldn’t wipe the cheesy grin of my face… so I had to tell her! Then I ran off to Target and picked up a little present for hubby.
Since I was home so early and we had a grad dinner to go to that night, I dressed up and fixed my hair. Then I wrapped the present and waited by the door for Tony to come home. He was a little surprised to see me home so early. But before he could even suspect anything, I handed him his gift. He looked confused and said, “What the heck is this for?” I told him that I was sorry we got in a fight last night and this was a little gift to make up for it. He replied, “All I gotta do is fight with you and I get presents?” I told him to just go ahead and open it.
He peeled back the wrapping paper and pulled out a little onesie that said “I Love My Daddy” on it!
